A driver has been arrested on suspicion of assault after police received concerning reports the occupant of a car was relating to a kidnapping.

GMP Traffic Police then managed to stop a pick-up truck on the motorway near Ashton in Manchester.

Cheshire Police had initially received reports that the owner of the white vehicle had tried a kidnapping.
